For years, tourists to Cambodia to work with one of the world's worst train networks to handle. Trains run between the villages rarely, damage and frequent derailments, and train yourself traveling with little more than walking pace. So people in the northwest of the country, near Cambodia's second city of Battambang, have taken matters into their own hands. They have created their own train with bamboo strips and the barbell as the wheels left the train. The locals call the vehicle "Norrie", but overseas visitors know them as "bamboo trains".
